How do you like your pizza? Do you like the conventional pizza base or are you a fan of crispy pizza crust?  If you love the crispy pizza like me then you are sure to love these bread pizzas. Topped with lots of veggies and cheese, these are sure to be a hit especially with kids.

Bread pizza is one of the quickest snacks that you can make with minimal ingredients. All you need is of course some bread slices, veggies of your choice, pizza sauce, cheese and some seasoning. Easy right?

To make these bread pizzas healthier use whole wheat breads or any bread that you fancy. Garlic bread would taste great too. I toasted the slices for 3-4 minutes in a preheated oven before adding the topping because that makes the breads crisp. You can skip the step and bake them straightaway with the toppings.

Method

Preheat you oven to 475 F [around 250 C]. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper arrange the bed slices on it. Toast the bread slices for 3-4 minutes at 475 F degrees. This step is optional but it makes the bread slices crispier.

Fine chop all the vegetables, you can use whatever veggies you have on hand in these bread pizzas – I used green pepper [capsicum], carrots, onion and paneer. You can use tomato, mushrooms, corn kernels etc.

Take out the bread slices from the oven and let them cool down a bit. Once they have cooled down, cover them with pizza sauce. I used less of the sauce but you can use as much you like. Sprinkle some Italian seasoning on top.

Cover the bread with all the veggies and sprinkle some salt and pepper to taste. Also add the chopped coriander. Top the slices with grated cheese, since I am in India these days I did not have much options when it came to cheese so I used regular mozarella cheese. You can use any cheese of your choice.

Finally sprinkle some red chilli flakes, pepper, salt and oregano on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 475 F degrees for 8-10 minutes or till the cheese melts and looks set.

Take out the crispy bread pizzas from the oven and enjoy them with some ketchup!

* Use whole wheat bread for healthier option.

* I used moderate amount of pizza sauce and cheese because that’s how I like my pizzas, if you are the “extra cheese”  kind of person add as much cheese as you want!

* You can use different veggies like corn kernels, mushrooms etc. in the bread pizza.

  1. Great idea Manali..stumbled upon your blog ..and regret not having seen this earlier. Love it.
Regarding the bread pizza, I’m planning to make them using your recipe for a get-together for the kids. I want to make them ahead and yet want it to be served warm and fresh. Any suggestions would be very helpful!
    Again…lovely site! Cheers!!

    1. Thanks Anita for your lovely comment! 🙂 Regarding the bread pizza I can think of 2 options

      1. You can chop all the veggies and keep them ready. Toast the bread slices and keep them ready. You can then just arrange the topping and bake for 6-8 minutes. These are done quickly and you can bake a large batch and serve, till the time kids finish the 1st batch your 2nd would be ready.

      or

      2. You can bake the bread pizzas completely few hours before, just don’t forget to toast the slices in the oven before putting the topping. They would stay crispy and when it’s the time to serve just place them in a pre-heated oven for few minutes till they are warm.

Good luck and let me know how they turn out! 🙂
