These bars I made simply because I had tons of apples lying in my fridge. So in an attempt to make something out of them, I came up with these bars.

Apple and oat are super healthy and combining these two together means packing a lot of good stuff in one bar.

These bars can be put together quickly, you don’t even need a mixer for this.

As they have apple in them the bars are gooey and soft. I kept them in fridge for sometime so that they set well.

A lot can be added in this recipe, nuts, chocolate chips etc etc. There can be so many variations. I added some sprinklers in the bars because they just make everything look beautiful, isn’t it? Also, sprinklers make the bars kid friendly!

These are healthy bars and a great snack option for you and your family.

Method

Preheat the oven to 350 F degrees. Remove the skin of the apples, chop them into small pieces and set aside.

1. Roast the oats in the oven at 350 F for 2-3 minutes. Set aside.

2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together vanilla, oil and brown sugar until combined.

3. Stir in the oats and whisk till it mixes well with the sugar and oil.

5. Stir in the cinnamon and mix.

6. Fold in the apples slowly.

8. Lastly, fold in the sprinklers. Replace them with chocolate chips if you want.

9. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and pour the mixture on it. Press the mixture tightly using a spoon or spatula. Press it for a minute or so that it sets well.

10. Bake at 350 F degrees for 25-30 minutes.

11. Allow it too cool. Once it has cooled down, transfer the tray to the fridge for 2 hours.

12. Cut into bars using a pizza cutter once completely set.

The bars will be soft even after they are set because of the apple. You can eat these apple and oatmeal bars as such or dip them in milk and have them for breakfast.
