Non Alcoholic Apple Cider Sangria is the perfect drink to celebrate fall. Kids and adults can enjoy this drink alike!
Confession time – I don’t drink alcohol. Not of any kind. In my 30+ years of life, I have tasted alcohol 7-8 times, I can count it on my fingers. I was brought up in a family where drinking alcohol wasn’t considered a good thing. Yes that’s how the society I grew up in the 90s in India was. Things have changed so much and now no one would think that way. I certainly don’t think that drinking alcohol is bad at all but while growing up I never saw anyone in my family drink alcohol. So I guess I just grew up with that mindset. When I was in college, I tried it few times but could never warm up to the taste – too bitter and tastless in my opinion. And then I married a man who absolutely dislikes alcohol so that was the end of everything as far as alcohol was concerned in my life! Frankly, I have tried wine, vodka, beer etc. but I just don’t like it and so we stay away from it.
The problem comes when we go to social gatherings. We struggle to find something good to drink. I don’t like sugary juices that we get in parties so ultimately we end up drinking water! But when I have friends over, I always try to make some delicious non-alcoholic drink which more often than not is made with Canada Dry Sparkling Seltzer Water!
Fall is here and since I can’t have enough of apple cider during this time of the year, I thought non alcoholic apple cider sangria would be the perfect drink to entertain friends and family. Now sangria is usually a summer drink but in my opinion it can be enjoyed anytime of the year. I was looking for ideas for a non-alcoholic drink during this weekend when I saw Lemon Lime Canada Dry Sparkling Seltzer Water while shopping at my local QFC. As soon as I spotted it I knew I was creating this drink.
Canada Dry Sparkling Seltzer Water has always been a favorite because it’s natural, unsweetened and has zero calories. WIN!
While shopping at QFC, I also picked up all the seasonal fruits to make this sangria. I picked apples, pears, orange and pomegranate since I was making this drink to celebrate fall. I love the fresh produce at QFC, so much to choose from! I actually picked a lot of apples, like way more than I needed for this recipe but that’s okay, I am sure I will get through the bag pretty quickly.
Making this apple cider sangria is super easy using Canada Dry Sparkling Seltzer Water. Simply chop the fruits, put them in a pitcher and then add apple cider and Canada Dry Sparkling Seltzer Water. And that’s it! Your delicious drink is ready to be enjoyed. Just remember to chill the drink before you serve it, really makes a difference. I also added a sugar rim to my serving glasses, looks cute isn’t it? : )
Method
Chop apple and pear into cubes [with skin on]. Cut orange into slices and peel the pomegranate. Add the chopped fruits to a pitcher (reserve some for garnish).
Add apple cider and Canada Dry Sparkling Seltzer Water to the pitcher and stir to combine. You can also add sugar at this point (if using).
Place the pitcher in the refrigerator to chill.
When apple cider sangria is chilled, pour into serving glasses and garnish with the remaining fruits. Enjoy!
* Adding sugar is optional. I did not add it but if you feel the sweetness isn’t enough you most certainly can!
You can find Canada Dry Sparkling Seltzer Water at QFC. Non alcoholic drinks are obviously my favorite but I would love to hear about your favorite fall drinks! Let me know in the comments section below!
