Moist and spiced Nutella Swirled Pumpkin Bread! The goodness of pumpkin and nutella in one wonderful treat!

Have I told you guys about my obsession with Nutella? So I tasted nutella for the first time when I was doing my MBA in Scotland. One spoon and I thought it was like the best thing I had ever tasted. So I started buying jars of nutella on each grocery trip. But I soon realized I was spending a lot of money of in. You know there’s always a financial crunch when you are a student, studying and living alone. And so I thought maybe I could replace nutella with the cheaper hazelnut spread at the grocery store. But that proved to be a disastrous decision. The local grocery store hazelnut spread taste was nowhere close to Nutella! So bad it was, that I ended by throwing the entire can and then bought a new jar of nutella! So that was the beginning of my Nutella obsession and over the years, the obsession has only increased! I swear, if not for the calories, I would eat at least 10 tablespoons everyday!

I always buy those huge jars of Nutella from Costco but they are just too big for the 2 of us to consume and hubby isn’t a big fan anyway (I know, roll eyes!!) so I end up using in a lot of my recipes like this Nutella Swirled Pumpkin Bread. Nutella + everything = awesome but Nutella + pumpkin = more awesome than you can imagine!

Have you guys tried my pumpkin bread? It’s really one of my favorite quick breads and make it every year during fall. For this recipe, I basically used my basic pumpkin bread recipe and added some nutella. Of course I cut down on some sugar since nutella is so sweet. The result was a deliciously spiced soft pumpkin bread with little touch of nutella. So perfect with a pumpkin spice latte or chai!

In fact I loved the pumpkin and nutella combination so much that I ended up making another fall recipe using the 2! I will share that soon on the blog. If there’s one thing pumpkin you would like to bake this fall, then I would strongly recommend giving this nutella swirled pumpkin bread a try. It’s really easy to make, is bursting with fall flavors and will make your house smell amazing when it’s in the oven. Plus you can never go wrong with nutella! I am sure these are more than enough reasons for you guys to try this bread! And now tell me you want a slice or 2? Also what’s your favorite pumpkin dessert, I would love to know.

Method

* Preheat oven to 350 F degrees. Spray a 9 x 5 loaf pan with nonstick spray and set aside.

In a bowl whisk together all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon powder, pumpkin pie spice and salt. Set aside.

Using paddle attachment of your stand mixer or using you hand mixer, beat together oil with both the sugars till combined.

Add eggs, vanilla extract and mix till combined.

Now add the pumpkin puree and mix to combine.

Start adding the flour mix to the wet ingredients. Add it in 3 parts, mixing after each addition.

Your batter is done when all the flour mix has been incorporated. Be careful not to over-mix, few streaks of flour is okay.

Finally drop dollops of the remaining 1/4 cup of nutella on top.

Repeat the process by making swirls using a toothpick or knife.

Amazing! Came out perfectly! I’d been wanting to make this since last year, but couldn’t find pumpkin puree! (We live in Scotland). Finally found some this year, and glad I bought 3 cans!

  1. I love Nutella too, but am afraid to have it around! It would be perfect swirled into this gorgeous pumpkin bread, however, if I could only keep my spoon out of it. haha This looks delicious, Manali!

  2. What a coincidence, Manali. I also made pumpkin chocolate bread this week, but yours look way better than mine. Absolutely loving this bread full of autumn flavors.

  3. I’m more of a cookie butter addict, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t love this bread 😉 It’s stunning, Manali!

  4. Oh, this sounds incredible, Manali! Pass me a big slice of this one, please…it’s perfect for the Fall season! (I’m always jealous when you mention studying in Scotland, by the way!)

    1. haha don’t be jealous David, I don’t really miss Scotland. I mean beautiful place but way too cold for my liking :/

  5. Oh my gosh, this is like the most perfect slice of pumpkin bread EVER, Manali! I’m seriously crushing hard on that gorgeous nutella swirl!!

    1. Hi Monica! Glad you share my love for nutella 😉 Yeah can be made eggless, try one of these:

      1. For each egg, combine 1 tablespoon of ground flax seed (measure after grinding) with 3 tablespoons of water. Stir well, and place in the fridge to set for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, the result should be a sticky egg-like substitute. A quick and easy egg replacement, featuring freshly ground flax or chia seeds.

      2. 1/2 cup of unsweetened applesauce or 1/2 cup yogurt for the 2 eggs!

  6. I am a firm believer that adding Nutella to anything is a good idea. Add some pumpkin in there and even better.
    Those swirls looks great too.
