Are you a morning person? When I was in college I used to sleep pretty late, I think that’s a common thing with everyone during college time. But it’s amazing how a lot of our habits change with time. After getting married and settling down in life, I started sleeping early, in fact now it’s a challenge for me to stay awake till midnight. I remember recently we had this Indian-Pakistan world cup cricket match and it went on till 3 am in the morning. I can’t remember the last time I was up this late and trust me it was hard for me to keep my eyes open in spite of me being a huge cricket buff.
Anyway whether I get sufficient sleep in the night or not, one thing which I always do need in the morning is my coffee! Sitting on the couch with a hot steaming cup of coffee in the morning is probably my favorite time of the day because it’s the little “me time” that I get to enjoy before the hustle bustle of life begins.
Over the weekend when husband doesn’t have to go to work, we both like to spend some quality time together over a cup of coffee. There’s a problem though, my hubby doesn’t like hot coffee but he loves frappuccino. So I have to make 2 types of coffee, hot for me and cold for him and for that I obviously need a coffee which works well for both versions and also tastes amazing. And which is why I was so excited to find new McCafé ground coffee beans and coffee pods which are now available in 8 different flavors in the coffee aisle at my favorite store, Walmart.
I instantly picked up the Breakfast Blend which like all the other flavors is made with 100% Arabica Beans harvested from the rich soils and mountainous regions of the foremost coffee-growing areas of the world. Using the McCafé Breakfast Blend I whipped up some dulce de leche frappucino for me and hubs over the weekend and the flavor left us wanting for more!
It’s so simple to make your own dulce de leche frapuucino at home, it doesn’t only taste awesome it’s also much cheaper if you compare it to the amount of $$ you’d pay for the same serving outside! Here’s how you make it in 3 simple steps.
Step 1 | Brew McCafé coffee and gather all your ingredients – brewed coffee, milk, ice cubes, dulce de leche and sugar.
Step 2 | In a blender mix everything together.
Step 3 | Blend till everything is well combined.
Pour into serving glass and enjoy! And of course some whipped cream and chocolate on top never hurts. I also added some toffee bits on top!
So whether your family prefers hot coffee or frapuccino, the flavor of McCafé coffee is perfect for all. In fact I can’t wait to bake with it, coffee muffins for breakfast anyone? The coffee is available in 8 flavors, so there’s a lot to choose from and it also has flexible brewing options!
And now tell me what’s your favorite way of drinking coffee? I would love to hear from you!
* Adjust sugar to taste. I used store bought Dulce De Leche in this recipe which was already quite sweet.
