Did I mention that I am learning to drive these days? Yes, after being in US for more than 3 years I finally decided to learn how to drive. Actually all this while we have been living in downtown where everything is at a walking distance so I didn’t really feel the need. But now that we have bought our own house which isn’t actually in downtown, it finally dawned upon me that I need to learn this.
I used to drive in India but driving in India and US is as different as chalk and cheese. First of all it’s right hand driving and then of course the biggest traffic rule in India is that there are no rules! There is no concept of lanes etc. so all this is very new to me. I drove on the freeway for the 1st time yesterday and I swear I was so so nervous that I wanted to stop the car in the middle of the road which obviously wasn’t possible! Had it been in India, I would have definitely stopped the car and asked hubby to drive but here I had to drive till we reached our destination. I am hoping to get over my fear of driving fast, actually I have never driven at such high speed so I feel like I have no control over the steering whenever the speed goes above 60 miles/hour. Hope to get better and also get my license soon enough.
After my driving adventure yesterday, the first thing that I wanted as soon as I came back home was a cup of coffee and because I had some leftover salted caramel sauce lying in my refrigerator I made this salted caramel mocha. The recipe is super simple and really taste as good as any salted caramel mocha which you would find in a cafe.
You can change the recipe according to how you like your coffee. Some like strong coffee, if you do too increase the amount of coffee to 3/4 cup to even 1 cup. If you like sweeter coffee, increase the amount of salted caramel sauce to 2 tablespoons. This ratio was perfect for me, but hey that’s just me you can change things are per your preference. To make this drink is ridiculously simple. First make some strong coffee and then in a pan mix the coffee with milk, cocoa powder and salted caramel sauce. Heat till it’s warm enough and then transfer to a cup. Top with whipped cream and some more salted caramel sauce and enjoy!
* I recommend using whole milk for best results.
* Adjust the amount of coffee and salted caramel to taste as mentioned in the post above.
