Even before I say anything I just want to say that this post is dedicated to my dad! He loves imarti (or Emarti), it’s his most favorite sweet in the world. I don’t think anything makes him more happy that eating hot imartis for breakfast. He often goes to Haldiram (a popular chain of restaurant in Delhi] to just eat Imartis, yes that’s how much he loves them! As soon as I made these, I messaged him a picture on Whats app and since then he has been saying it’s so unfair that we live thousands of miles apart. But...Continue reading
Happy Friday guys! It’s the happiest day of the week and what makes it even more exciting? Some chocolate of course! I am not picky when it comes to chocolate, I can each chocolate in each and every form. Dark, milk, white I love it all. I love it as it is and even it’s inside cookies, cakes or even granola. I guess you guys get my obsession with chocolate. Anyway, so what kind of granola do you guys like? Are you one of those who tries hard to find the big clusters from the granola box? If yes, then this recipe is for you – big cluster chocolate...Continue reading
This dish brings back so many memories. Aloo matar tehri is a kind of vegetable pilaf especially popular in the state of Uttar Pradesh (UP) in India. Even though I grew up in and around Delhi, my origins are from UP and so this was something mom would often make for dinner when she was not in the mood to make dal and roti. I was not the biggest tehri fan around but that has to do with the fact that I’m not a big fan of rice in general but even then I enjoyed this dish whenever mom made it. It’s funny how you start missing these...Continue reading
So I have been posting all the dips and sauces for the last few days because I wanted to share this – chickpea spinach corn quesadillas with cilantro mint chutney and creamy cucumber dip! I have spoken about my love for Mexican food several times on the blog. I love it because it’s awesome and also because Mexican food introduced me to avocados. I had no idea what avocados were when I moved to US few years back and now it’s one of my favorite things to eat. Seriously I make avocado sandwich for breakfast all the time....Continue reading

This weekend was so bright and sunny in Seattle, even though the temperatures were in 50’s and it was in fact quite chilly at night. Okay you folks from the east coast and around, I know it’s nothing compared to what you guys have got, but still it’s too much for us here! Anyway I love the sun because everything feels better...Continue reading
Happy Weekend guys! Mine is not off to a good start because I injured my knee while running. I don’t think anything annoys me more than not being able to run around as I would normally do. I have been asked to take rest and anti-inflammatory drugs till things settle down a bit. The worst part is that I had so much trouble walking around the house today, seriously disturbs my whole schedule.
Anyway let’s talk about food now because if food makes everything better. I...Continue reading
On every special occasion like hubby’s birthday, our wedding anniversary or Valentine’s Day I spend a considerable amount of time thinking what to buy for him but ultimately I end up giving him a simple sweater or a shirt with a card. You know why it’s so difficult because he is not fond of anything! I mean nothing! He isn’t fond of clothes, shoes, watches, perfumes, electronics, games etc etc. Whatever you can think of he isn’t a fan and that’s what makes it so so difficult. It’s so easy to give me a gift, just...Continue reading

So I had a wonderful weekend! For those unaware, Cricket World Cup has begun and cricket in India is like football in US maybe even bigger. Cricket is a religion in India and cricketers are worshiped, no kidding! It’s the only thing that unites more than 1.2 billion people in the country. India is the defending world champion, winner of 2011 world cup and we played our first match in the tournament yesterday against arch rivals Pakistan and we WON! Wohooo! The match started around 7 PM PST and went on till 4 am, so yeah we were awake the whole night but because we won, it was all worth it!...Continue reading
